The archives hold a number of collections of both national and international significance which compliment our learning, teaching and research agendas.  In addition to historical institutional papers (from foundation in 1847 to the present day), we also care for a number of private bequests and donations, including: 

 

Nell Ballantyne

Scottish stage, television and film actor (active chiefly from 1943 to 1959) and a prominent early member of the Scottish National Players.

Sir Ernest Bullock

Erstwhile Principal of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (then the Scottish National Academy of Music, changing to the Royal Scottish Academy of Music) from 1941 to 1953.

Rita Dow

Scottish ballet dancer, choreographer and principal dancer for Howard & Wyndham Ltd. (from 1941 to 1947) who specialised in repertoire to accompany Spanish folk music.

Jimmy Logan OBE

Pre-eminent Scottish performer, producer and director (1928 - 2001) and nephew of Broadway performer Ella Logan (from whom he derived his stage name).

Robert Minter

Collector and cataloguer of rare and obscure music manuscripts with particular emphasis on Seventeenth and Eighteenth-Century trumpet repertory.
