Speirs Locks Studios Campus
Award-winning dance studios and production facilities
Speirs Locks Studios
At the beginning of 2011 and after an investment of £6M, we officially opened our
wonderful facilities at Speirs Locks and became neighbours of Scottish Opera and the National
Theatre of Scotland. Just ten minutes walk away from our main building at Renfrew Street, our
second campus is located at Garscube Road and houses 4 professional dance studios, new studios
for set, props and wardrobe design and construction and an industrial scale paintframe.
The new facility was built by Malcolm Fraser architects, who also designed the home of
Scottish Ballet at Tramway. This exciting development puts the Royal
Conservatoire at the heart of an ambitious urban regeneration programme, supported by Glasgow
City Council, and is a cornerstone in the creation of a hub of artistic activity in this part of
the city.

Hire Information
Speirs Locks Studios is Glasgow newest place to dance.
Four industry-standard dance studios are a central part of the Royal Conservatoire of
Scotland’s performing arts campus. The spaces are used to support professional dancers in their
modern ballet training at the Royal Conservatoire and also by our short course programme
providing a school, community and pre vocational access to excellence dance programme.
The studios are available to hire. We are particularly keen to work with dance artists,
companies and choreographers in the professional creative dance sector.
