Musicworks: Our Aims
We aim in all our work to:
- promote excellence in music and the development of young people’s ability and potential without being elitist. All our projects are open access. Participants do not have to be tested prior to entry to our programmes. If they want to play they can.
- ensure our programmes are not exam-driven but people-driven. We pride ourselves in promoting enjoyment in music;
- ensure participants learn the whole context of music – instrumental instruction, musicianship, theory and ensemble playing;
- ensure each centre is part of a network linked to the experience and expertise of the Royal Conservatoire.
Throughout all our work we strive to provide an exceptional level of educational implementation, sustainability and flexibility. The success of the work we do is down to extensive levels of consultation and review with all parties and without making the assumption that Musicworks Centres knows best.
