Elective Class Options for Secondary Students
Our secondary students spend terms 2, 3 and 4 studying their chosen elective with experienced
tutors. They have the opportunity to explore their chosen art form in depth, developing skills
and experimenting with a variety of techniques.
The elective options are compulsory for Saturday secondary students and optional for
Sunday secondary students.
The year culminates in a performance that is part of the Short Courses Clash Festival.
All classes present a final piece of work based on a shared starting point that has been chosen by
the Young People’s Forum.
In 2014 these performances are expected to take place in the Conservatoire's Chandler
Studio Theatre, Alexander Gibson Opera Studio, Fyfe Lecture Theatre and the Glasgow Film
Theatre.
The elective options are as follows:
- Devised Theatre
- Acting with Text
- Musical Theatre
- Filmmaking
- Stage Management (S1 - 3 only)
- Production Arts (S4 - 6 only)

Please note that we aim to offer students their first choice of elective class, but
occassionally we are unable to do this. When this happens students will be offered their second
choice of course.
