Visa and Immigration

What to check when you receive your Tier 4 (General) student visa / Biometric Residence Permit (BRP)
You must check that all of your personal details and course/institution information on your visa is correct as soon as you receive it. You will find the sponsor license number on your CAS certificate or you can contact the International and Student Experience team at international@rcs.ac.uk who can confirm it for you.

You should also check that the duration of the validity of your visa is correct. If there are any errors, you will need to have these corrected as soon as possible. Generally if there is a mistake on your visa and you have not yet travelled, contact the Visa Application Centre (VAC) that issued your visa immediately and ask them to correct your visa. If you have travelled to the UK you will need to contact the UKBA as soon as possible to get the mistake rectified. The International and Student Experience team at the Conservatoire (international@rcs.ac.uk) can guide you through this process.

What happens if your passport or BRP is lost or stolen

If your passport or BRP is lost or stolen you must make sure that you report it to the Police as soon as possible. The UKBA investigates any lost or stolen documents which results in longer processing times for replacement documents. Please view the UKBA website for advice about what to do if your passport or BRP is lost or stolen.

If you need any further advice after you have received your visa then please contact international@rcs.ac.uk
