School of Music Open Day
Are you interested in finding out more about life in the Conservatoire?
If so, why not book a place on the open day taking place on Friday 7 June 2013.
The Open Day will offer you, your parents and your teachers a chance to observe Music Performance Classes/Rehearsals, engage in discussions with current students and staff and to explore the Conservatoire's facilities and student accommodation.

Why should I attend an Open Day?
Attending an Open Day allows you to make an informed choice. You will be able to experience the environment in which you will be studying, view facilities and accommodation and receive advice and information allowing you to make the best choice.
What will happen on the day?
Between 9am and 4pm, you will be able to:
- Tour the Conservatoire and main facilities
- Attend Performance Classes, Rehearsals and Concerts
- Speak to Academic staff to discuss academic content of programmes
- Speak to Head of Departments to discuss practical elements of the programmes
- Meet our students
- Gain information about fees, welfare and accommodation
- Tour of Student Accommodation
What types of Music programmes of study are available?
The RCS offers a range of programme of study:
At Undergraduate level:
- Bachelor of Music (Hons) Performance/Jazz/Composition/Joint Principal Study
- Bachelor of Education (Hons) Music
- BA (Hons) Scottish Music/Scottish Music - Piping
At Masters level:
- Master of Music in the following specialisms - Accompaniment, Composition, Conducting, Jazz, Opera, Performance, Piano for Dance, Repetiteurship and Scottish Music
How do I book a place?
We recommend pre-booking using the link below, however you can still come along if you have not pre-booked. Parents are welcome to attend and are not required to register for this event.

If you need hotel accommodation we have negotiated discounted rates with the Citizen M hotel and the Thistle Hotel. Quote Royal Conservatoire of Scotland when making your enquiry. Both hotels are next to our campus at Renfrew Street.

Registration for open days open one month prior to the open day. Should you wish to arrange a tour of the Conservatoire before then, please email tours@rcs.ac.uk.
