BEd (Music) with Honours
The BEd (Music) Programme is highly vocational in nature. Placement learning takes place in
the School Experience modules.
With the aim of maximising the involvement of schools in the process of teacher-education, we
involve our partners in school Music departments and in primary schools to the greatest possible
degree. This has resulted not merely in practising classroom professionals being consulted for
their views on the progress of students, but in their playing an active and equal part in the
training and assessment of their future colleagues.
All School Placements are allocated by Local Authority representatives, and it is their
decision as to which schools are chosen for placements. However, students can request a
placement in any Local Authority within reasonable travelling distance from Glasgow, and every
effort will be made to meet the request.
