BA Musical Theatre

Welcome to BA Musical Theatre

Building on the success of our postgraduate programme, this three year, full-time undergraduate degree is aimed at performers who can demonstrate excellence in acting, singing and dance. The panel will look for a high level of skill and trainable potential across all 4 disciplines, including instrumental skills, in the training of the truly multi-disciplinary artist.

This unique programme will train students in all the essential elements of the Musical Theatre art form by supporting both technical development and artistic creativity.  The small cohort size of 18 allows for a high degree of one-on-one, 2 separate groups for techniques classes and a range of varying ensemble configurations for project work.

With the superb facilities of the Royal Conservatoire and collaboration opportunities with all related departments this course provides a safe environment for progression of all skills essential to sustaining a career in Musical Theatre.

The 3-year arc looks to support technical development with a view to developing artistic growth and creativity. The 1st year looks to provide a safe environment for technical development and personal grounding through all aspects of skill base.  This moves through into 2nd year by working through the synthesis of different skills and the development of creativity in project work. The 3rd year is based on the integration of all these skills in 3 public shows and Industry Showcases in Glasgow and London.  The full course is supported with one-to-one vocal training, repertoire coaching, instrumental tuition and entrepreneurial support.
