Research

Lifelong Learning works with children, young people and adult learners from across the world in the disciplines of dance, drama, music, production and screen.

As a department everything we do focusses on sharing our knowledge and builds from action research to ensure we are at the forefront of performing arts education and teaching in the UK.

Our five current areas of research interest are the performing arts in prison and social justice settings, using drama for children and young people with autism, addressing barriers to participation for young people who are care experienced, working with d/Deaf students to understand and create visual performance and young people as digital, creative collaborators.

These webpages offer some insight into the developmental work we support as a department to inform and evolve specialist practices at RCS and also with our partners.
