We are delighted that you’re interested in studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Currently around 20% of our students come from outside the UK. Between them they represent over 64 different nationalities and add a rich multicultural diversity to RCS.
We understand that it all may feel quite daunting when you first arrive in Scotland. To help you during your first week here, you can take part in several organised activities that will help you to feel at home. You’ll meet many other international students and many more from the UK, who will be new to Glasgow too.
For more information about being an international or EU student at the Conservatoire please use the links on the right hand side of the page. There is comprehensive information available about auditioning for a place outside the UK, agents, English language requirements and visa regulations.
We run a number of events and services specifically tailored to the needs of non-UK students. Details are listed below. For further information please contact our International and Student Experience team at email@example.com
Airport Pickup Service
The Conservatoire offers a free airport pickup service from Glasgow International airport for students arriving in Scotland from outside the Common Travel Area (Ireland, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, and the Channel Islands.)
Family Welcome Event
Each year we hold a special welcome event for parents, family members and friends of all new RCS students about to start studying on our full-degree programmes.
EU students coming to study at the Conservatoire must ensure that they have Comprehensive Sickness Insurance. The easiest way to demonstrate Comprehensive Sickness Insurance is through a valid European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) for temporary migrants which is issued free of charge by an EEA member state other than the UK, or their own Comprehensive Sickness Insurance policy.
