Sarah Watts: Dolphy Fused

Dolphy Fused is a programme celebrating the Jazz bass clarinet player Eric Dolphy.

After discovering Dolphy‘s archived handwritten Bach transcriptions Sarah Watts commissioned Miroslav Spasov and Sohrab Uduman to write two new works for bass clarinet and electronics that fuse Bach and Dolphy together. The programme also features transcriptions of movements from the Bach cello Suites, a transcription of Dolphy‘s improvisation on ‘God Bless The Child’, and ‘In Memoriam’ by Frid Vaughan.

Four new works by RCS student composers will also be premiered in this concert.
