We’re very excited to welcome audiences back to RCS

RCS is performance!  RCS staff and student are delighted to welcome audiences back to our venues.  We are now able to begin scheduling public performances again.

We are working hard to keep our staff, students and audiences safe.  There are a few things which will be a little different.  Please read through the information below if you are booking for one of our public performances.  The RCS Box Office is open for online and telephone sales.  Unfortunately we are not open for in person sales as yet.  If you have any further question please do get in touch.

As of Monday 17th Jan we will require all audience members to show proof of a negative lateral flow test taken within the last 72 hours.

Do I need to wear a face mask?

Yes.  Everyone aged 12 or over (unless you are exempt) will be required to wear a face covering at all times while in the RCS building, including during the performance.

Do I need a COVID passport?

No.  Under current Scottish Government guidance we are not required to check COVID passports for our audiences.

We request that all audience members take a Lateral Flow Test on the day of the event, prior to starting your journey to RCS.  Please only attend the performance if you receive a negative test.

Do I need to carry out a Lateral Flow test?

To help keep our students, staff and audiences safe as of Monday 17th Jan we will require all audience members to show proof of a negative lateral flow test taken within the last 72 hours.

We will have staff on duty to check your negative result confirmation at the entrance to the venue.  You can use either an email, text message or print out as confirmation.  You will receive this confirmation when you register your Lateral Flow test results with gov.uk

Please only attend the performance if you receive a negative test.

How can I find out what is on?

We aren’t able to publish our printed ‘What’s On’ guide at the moment.  All public events will be listed on the RCS Box Office website.  We’d recommend that you also join our mailing list to be kept up to date on events or changes to the performance schedule.

Is the Box Office open again?

Yes, we are open for online and telephone sales (0141 332 5057) Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm.   The Box Office will also be open 30 mins prior to the start of performances.

Unfortunately we can’t offer in person sales at the Box Office as yet.

Sales for performances in January are currently paused while we wait on updated guidance from the Scottish Government.

Please note the Box Office is now cashless.  Payment is by card/contactless.

How will I receive my tickets?

We are asking all customers to use e-tickets/Print at home.  This reduces contact points to help keep customers and staff safe.  Tickets can also be posted.

Your e-ticket can be shown on your phone to be scanned at the door to the venue, or can be printed at home.

Is the Cafe Bar open?

Unfortunately we are not able to open the Café Bar to public audiences as yet.   Please feel free to bring bottled water with you (plastic only please).  As always, food is not allowed inside the venue.

I booked a ticket but have received a positive COVID test. Can I get a refund?

Yes, we will be happy to exchange or refund your ticket should you receive a positive COVID test.  Please get in touch with the Box Office in advance of the performance (we aren’t able to process refunds/exchanges after the performance).

What are RCS doing to keep audiences safe?

Keeping our staff, students and audience members safe is a top priority.  We have put in place some additional measures to help with this:-

  • Doors the the venue will open earlier to avoid queues forming.
  • The venue is being cleaned before and after each performance.
  • Hand sanitiser is available throughout the building.
  • We have reduced the audience capacity for our venues.

We would kindly ask audiences to leave the building immediately after the performance.

We are delighted to welcome audiences back to RCS. Please see our Information for Audiences page for important info.
