HMD-20 Scotland to commemorate 75th Anniversary of Liberation of Buchenwald

The year 2020 will be a year of commemoration of two very significant events: 75th Anniversary of the liberation of Buchenwald- notorious Nazi labor camp (11.04.1945) and the end of WW2 in Europe (08.05.1945) .This performance will feature an original work commissioned by Interfaith Scotland and being composed by two renowned world and klezmer music performers Oleg Ponomarev and Lev Atlas. The piece is to be premiered and performed by Glasgow Schools Strings with participation of RCS students and prominent participants of Celtic Connection Festival. This will be followed by gala concert by students and teachers of RCS and RCS Juniors. We will also welcome on stage our guests; students and teachers from Yerevan State Conservatoire (Armenia), who will be visiting RCS as part of 3 years Erasmus+ collaboration.
