Short Courses exists to widen access and participation in the wonderful rehearsal and performance facilities, with the amazing teachers and excellent learning programmes at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS). We offer an exciting selection of weekly and weekend courses for children, young people and adults across music, dance, drama, production and film.

Or perhaps you are interested in our courses for young people of secondary school age who wish to engage creatively with different styles and techniques taught by inspiring professionals.

Our weekly courses for adults including acting, filmmaking and writing for the stage and screen – there are classes for complete beginners or those looking to enhance and develop their existing skills.

We also offer a selection of audition and interview preparation courses for those hoping to progress to higher education training. As well as credit-rated courses which are designed in accordance with the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF).

In July and August we offer a wide selection of summer schools for children, young people and adults who wish to enhance skills and techniques, learn from internationally-renowned lecturers and connect with like-minded people.

As a student at Scotland’s national conservatoire, you will be joining a truly vibrant and multi-cultural environment. You will be studying in a friendly and supportive atmosphere where students are encouraged to realise their aspirations, develop their skills and explore their potential.

For students who wish to pursue a career in the performing and production arts, the Junior Conservatoire may have a course suited to your learning needs. Entry to the Junior Conservatoire is by audition/interview and we look for students who display the dedication and talent to take their learning further.
