Applications are made online via UCAS Conservatoires with the exception of BA Performance in BSL and English. Applications for BA Performance in BSL and English are made directly to the Conservatoire, and instructions on how to download the BA Performance in BSL and English application can be found on the programme page under ‘How to apply’.
School of Music and Education
All applicants will be required to submit online, recorded material as part of their audition for the School of Music. Following the review of recorded materials, applicants may be invited to attend a second round in-person sometime towards the end of November/early December (with the exception of BEd Music interviews which are currently scheduled to take place in February 2022). If an applicant cannot attend in-person, an online alternative will be provided.
Postgraduate Education assessments will be made through online submission. Applicants may also be invited to attend an online interview.
School of Drama, Dance, Production and Film
BA Modern Ballet, MA/MFA Classical and Contemporary Text (Directing) and MA Musical Theatre (Musical Directing) – We hope to hold in-person auditions for these programmes. For those who cannot attend in-person, an online alternative will be provided.
BA Acting, BA Musical Theatre, MA Musical Theatre (Performance), MA Musical Theatre (Choreography), MA/MFA Classical and Contemporary Text (Acting) – First round auditions for will be online. Subsequent rounds will be held in-person and online.
BA (Hons) Contemporary Performance Practice – auditions will be held online through recorded submission. Some applicants may also be invited to an online interview.
BA Production Arts and Design – we hope to hold in-person interviews, and for those who cannot attend in-person, an online alternative will be provided.
BA Production Technology and Management and BA Filmmaking – interviews for these programmes will be online.
For at least the remainder of 2021, our open days and departmental/admissions events will take place online. We offer a variety of online events, information sessions, and virtual tours that will allow you to learn more about the Conservatoire and what it’s like to study in Scotland. More information can be found on the Open Days section of our website.
The deadline for exchange applications to RCS in 2021/2022 has passed. If you’re a student from one of RCS’s partner institutions, then you can apply to come on exchange in 2022/2023 once applications open in January 2022 via https://aec.dreamapply.com/.
