Today’s programme is aimed at those involved in Secondary education. All delegates can expect to engage in hands-on workshops and gain practical knowledge on how to create meaningful and engaging arts-based experiences for pupils to explore issues around learning for sustainability.
Delegates will be invited to choose one workshop from their non-specialist area, to encourage interdisciplinary learning and gain different perspectives across the expressive arts.
9.00 – 9.30 – Registration
Tea, coffee and a light breakfast will be provided.
9.30 – Welcome

Followed by Q&A session with delegates facilitated by Dr Angela Jaap, Lecturer in Professional Learning, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
10.30 – 11.00 – Tea & Coffee Break
11.00 – 12.30 – Discipline Session 1
These sessions will be repeated after lunch to allow delegates to explore a different area of the expressive arts curriculum under the themes of Music, Drama, Dance, Production and Film.

The morning sessions will be repeated to allow delegates to explore a different area of the expressive arts curriculum under the themes of Music, Drama, Dance, Production and Film.

The day will conclude with a panel including colleagues from Education Scotland and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Across the day our workshops will provide practical ideas and strategies for incorporating creative arts activities into your teaching, as well as highlighting the benefits of using art-based teaching methods for young learners around issues of learning for sustainability.
