For 14–18 year olds
The Junior Conservatoire drama programme offers advanced training to students aged 14–18 who are talented performers and aspire to study drama at a higher level. The Junior Conservatoire Drama operates across three art forms, and offers a core skills development programme and a young company at Junior Conservatoire level:
The skills development element of each programme is delivered on Sundays during the academic term. These weekly classes are taught by Royal Conservatoire expert tutors and lecturers, using the same facilities as our degree students.
Junior Conservatoire companies
The company element of our programme is delivered on weekday evenings and is designed to give students the opportunity to gain experience performing in professional venues and in front of an audience.
Combined skills development and company
Successful applicants who wish to choose both the skills development and company options can choose to study both with the aim of developing their skills within a formal performing company context.
Junior Conservatoire alumnus include actors, David Tennant, Jack Lowden and writer, Jackie Kay.
Each year we only accept a small number of students on to each of the Acting, Contemporary Performance Practice, and Musical Theatre Junior programmes to ensure our students receive the highest quality learning and teaching, as well as intensive one to one and ensemble work.
