Student Handbooks
The student handbooks provide detailed information on all Junior Conservatoire activity and processes. The handbook is an important resource which should be referred to throughout the year:
Junior Conservatoire Student Handbook
Pre-Junior Conservatoire Student Handbook
Junior Conservatoire Music Events Calendar
Please view the updated (18.1.24) Junior Conservatoire Events Calendar 2023-24.
This document outlines all teaching weeks and confirmed performances. We expect all students to commit to the ensemble performances of the groups that they are timetabled for. Please note the dates and times in your diary.
Online Absence Form
Please online absence notification form to notify the office of any planned absences from Junior Conservatoire activity. We encourage parent/carers/students to notify us of future absences with as much notice as possible.
Please call the Junior Conservatoire (0141 270 8247) if you happen to be unwell on the day and cannot attend classes.
Kaba Cards
Please remember to bring your student Kaba Card in order to access the secure corridors of the RCS. Continuing students from last year are advised to update their card at one of the kaba update points on arrival. These are situated on Level 1 (behind the Client Services Reception desk), on Level 2 (in the Cafe Bar), and on Level 3 (outside the entrance to the Library).
Large Instruments
Students are reminded that there is an allocated area next to the programme assistant desk (café bar area) where larger instruments (cello/clarsach/tuba/accordion/double-bass) can be left during the day. Instruments must be stored neatly within the barriers, ensuring that no corridors, fire exit routes or doorways are blocked.
Please note that instruments are left at your own risk as the programme assistants are occasionally required to be in other areas of the building.
Practice Room Keys
We have an extremely limited number of practice rooms available to students on Saturdays. If you sign-out a practice room key, please return it within one hour. Some students have been keeping cards all day which prevents other students from practicing in the spaces.
Severe Nut Allergies
Staff and students are asked to refrain from consuming nuts during Junior Conservatoire activity. We have several students with severe allergies.
