Pre-Junior Conservatoire programmes
Our two Pre-Junior courses are for primary school children aged 7 – 12. Courses run in both Dance and Music and act as a preparatory course prior to Junior Conservatoire auditions. Progression is not automatic, but we aim to provide our youngest performers and players with the skills needed to succeed at an advanced level of training in their chosen artform.
Children learn in a relaxed, fun and friendly environment, which will give them a grounding in their chosen discipline.
Both programmes are auditioned. There is no set entry standard, instead we look for potential and take into consideration any prior learning and look at the young person’s progression rate from that.
Once the child reaches the end of P7, they may want to audition for our Junior Conservatoire course. Entry to this course is not automatic and all children must audition. Any child who has attended pre-juniors will undertake a contextualised audition, meaning that as well as one performance audition, we look at how they progressed in Pre-Juniors taking any report cards into consideration.
