The challenge was to create emotionally driven ideas based on the late Jóhann Jóhannsson’s haunting track ‘Flight From The City’ from the album Orphée.
In this selection the student were asked to create visual collages from ‘found footage’ and create a piece of film art that would represent a poem of their choosing.
Visual storytelling in the medium of film is an exercise in creating a story that has no dialogue. The students set about creating these visual stories with great effect.
This final film selection is a testament to the creative power of collaboration even through difficult times. This years’ Junior Conservatoire Film students spent their study time with the RCS primarily online and still strived to create films in isolation. Its exciting to see that young creatives will endeavour to make art under any circumstances. We hope you enjoy the films.
