ABRSM Aural Training Grades 7-8 (Spring)

Weekly Class for Young People and Adults

Introduction

This seven week course will improve your general ear training and aid you in preparing for the ABRSM aural tests included in the Grades 5-6 practical exams.

Held over seven weeks, you will be encouraged to apply your learning in a practical context using your voice.

By the end of the course, you can expect to have:

  • Learn all the necessary skills to sit the aural skills tests included in the practical grade 5 and 6 exams
  • Improve your musical ear and improve your playing/singing
  • Identify intervals, cadences, chords and modulations
  • Develop your musical memory
  • Develop your sight singing skills

Financial support



Agnes Allan Bursary

Agnes Allan was a teacher, passionate about inclusion, and this bursary scheme exists to offer support to students to participate in the performing or production arts.

The Agnes Allan Bursary provides some support to students who may require financial assistance to take part in a short course in dance, drama, music, production or screen.

Anyone who wishes to take part in our Lifelong Learning courses and faces a financial barrier can apply for bursary support to help meet the cost of tuition fees.

Who is this course for?

This course is designed for students who hope to sit the ABRSM Grade 7 or 8 practical exam, who wish to improve their ear training and at this playing level or for those looking to refresh their skills in preparation for Higher Education studies.
