Musical Theatre: Live Production (for ages 13 - 18)

Summer School for Young People

Introduction

This eleven-day summer school is for young people aged 13 – 18 who wish to develop musical theatre performance skills and experience working on a production.

The course is taught by expert staff who work on our BA Musical Theatre progamme. Students will benefit from having the opportunity to creatively engage with the styles of teaching that we use at the Royal Conservatoire.

The course is practical, rigorous and aims to challenge participants technically and creatively. Participants will go through the experience of being cast in a musical theatre production followed by an intensive rehearsal process. The course culminates in a performance for an invited audience in one of the Conservatoire’s professional venues.

By the end of the courses students should have:

  • strengthened their acting, singing and dance techniques
  • experienced a professional approach to casting and rehearsing
  • participated in skill-based masterclasses
  • worked towards a finished production as an musical theatre ensemble

The summer school aims to create an inspiring, challenging and supportive environment for ambitious musical theatre performers to increase their performance experience.

The performance will take place on the last Friday of the course.

The deadline for booking this course is Friday 15 June 2018 at 12pm.
