RAD Primary Ballet

Weekly Course for Children

Introduction

This RAD ballet class is for children aged 6+ who want to learn this beautiful art form, get fit and meet other young people.

There is no previous experience required for this class and we encourage young children who love to dance to join in our ballet classes.

The class is taught by an RAD-registered dance teacher and students will learn movement skills, expression, creativity and musical awareness.

Students also have the option to study for and be presented for RAD examinations at the end of the academic year. The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) is one of the world’s most influential dance education and training organisations and is recognised internationally for the highest standards of learning and teaching. These classes are designed to motivate and encourage students of all ages and levels of ability through systematic measurement of progress and attainment.

Students will be taught by a qualified RAD teacher in professional dance spaces, and when required accompanied by a pianist. Classes will focus on dance technique and performance skills, working towards optional examination and class awards.

These classes provide an opportunity to study ballet through recreational and vocational routes. They are suitable for students who want to develop their dance technique and skills further, or are new to dance and looking for a fun way to get fit.

Students who study the RAD syllabus will have:

Achievable goals to work towards
Recognition from the world’s largest ballet examination board
Qualifications that are fully accredited by the UK regulatory authorities
The impetus to achieve their personal best in a fun and nurturing environment
