RAD Intermediate Foundation Ballet (Fridays)

Weekly classes

Introduction

The RAD Intermediate Foundation syllabus challenges and inspires students technically and creatively, encouraging critical thinking and physical fitness.

Led by an RAD registered dance teacher, students will develop their understanding of the vocabulary and technique of ballet.

Upon successful participation of the course, students can be entered for the Intermediate Foundation Examination. This is aligned at Level 2 of the RAD Graded syllabus. Successful candidates are eligible to become Affiliate Members of the Royal Academy of Dance.

The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) is one of the world’s most influential dance education and training organisations and is recognised internationally for the highest standards of learning and teaching. These classes are designed to motivate and encourage students of all ages and levels of ability through systematic measurement of progress and attainment.

Students will be taught by a qualified RAD teacher in professional dance spaces, and when required accompanied by a pianist. Classes will focus on dance technique and performance skills, working towards optional examination and class awards.

These classes provide an opportunity to study ballet through recreational and vocational routes. They are suitable for students who want to develop their dance technique and skills further, or are new to dance and looking for a fun way to get fit.

Students who study the RAD syllabus will have:

  • Achievable goals to work towards
  • Recognition from the world’s largest ballet examination board
  • Qualifications that are fully accredited by the UK regulatory authorities
  • The impetus to achieve their personal best in a fun and nurturing environment

The course will be delivered by an RAD registered and qualified teacher.

Term 1: w/c Saturday 9 September – Friday 15 December 2017 (no classes between 14 – 20 October)

Term 2: w/c Saturday 13 January- Friday 23 March 2018 (no classes between 10 – 16 February)

Term 3: w/c Saturday 21 April – Saturday 9 June 2018
