Summer School for Children

This summer school is an opportunity for children, who have never tried ballet before, to learn more about the style and meet new friends.

Summer Ballet encourages students to enjoy ballet as a form of physical exercise, whilst also teaching timing, rhythm and musicality.

By the end of the course students should have:

  • Developed their ballet technique
  • Developed technical, musical and performance skills in ballet and related dance disciplines
  • Worked with RAD-registered dance teachers
  • Participated in a range of sessions with different teachers

Financial support



Agnes Allan Bursary

Agnes Allan was a teacher, passionate about inclusion, and this bursary scheme exists to offer support to students to participate in the performing or production arts.

The Agnes Allan Bursary provides some support to students who may require financial assistance to take part in a short course in dance, drama, music, production or screen.

Anyone who wishes to take part in our Lifelong Learning courses and faces a financial barrier can apply for bursary support to help meet the cost of tuition fees.

How to apply for Agnes Allan Bursary

Your bursary application must be submitted before you apply for a Lifelong Learning course. You will be asked to provide supporting documents with your application.

Entry requirements

This course is open access for young people aged 7–9. No formal qualifications are required.
