Wild Thing! (Drama for ages 5 - 7)

Summer School for Children

Introduction

Let the wild rumpus start!

Max is wild. He is so wild that he is king of the Wild Things – playful and chaotic beasts that rule over Wild Island. It has been quite some time since he sailed away from home, leaving his hot supper uneaten.

But things on Wild Island are different now… and Max doesn’t like it. Can you help Max and the Wild Things to save the day?

This week-long summer school is inspired by Maurice Sendak’s award-winning children’s classic Where the Wild Things Are. The story is explored through drama games and activities, immersing children in the fiction as it unfolds in the room.

Led by experienced teaching artists the course will offer a fun, stimulating and challenging experience for all regardless of previous experience.

Throughout the course your child will:

  • Develop personal confidence and creative decision making skills
  • Be introduced to drama and performance skills
  • Make new friends and work collaboratively in a group
  • Work towards a short performance for family and friends

Throughout the week, the children will work towards a short, informal performance which takes place in a Royal Conservatoire venue on the last afternoon of the course.

The closing date for booking this course is Friday 1 June 2018 at 12pm
