New Strategic Director joins the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland

The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland today announced the appointment of seasoned international fundraiser Christopher Wynn as the institution’s Strategic Director of Principal Gifts.

For the past 15 years, Christopher has been Director of Development for the Edinburgh International Festival (EIF). Prior to that he developed and delivered high-level fundraising programmes across the cultural sector including Jazz at Lincoln Center and New York City Opera.

Making the announcement, Professor Jeffrey Sharkey said:

“I am absolutely delighted to announce the appointment of Christopher Wynn as Strategic Director of Principal Gifts for RCS.

“Christopher brings with him an informed passion for performing arts and performing arts education. He has an BFA in Music, Dance and Theatre which he credits as having made a profound difference to his life. He is joining RCS at an important time as we celebrate our 175th anniversary in 2022 and begin the journey of our next strategic plan.’

“I look forward very much to welcoming Christopher to RCS in January. I know he looks forward very much to getting to know the RCS community and understand and help us realise our ambitions for the future of our students, our institution and the performing arts here in Scotland and across the world.”

Christopher will join RCS as a development consultant three days a week and will work in close partnership with RCS’s Head of Fundraising Julie Reynolds and the fundraising team. He will also continue to support EIF.
