RCS ranked in world top five for performing arts education

The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland has been ranked fifth in the world for performing arts education by the prestigious QS World Rankings 2018.

Professor Jeffrey Sharkey, Principal of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland said:

“I am delighted to share with you the new QS 2018 World Academic Rankings which place The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland once again in the global Top Five of performing arts educational institutions.

This is an outstanding achievement which sees us placed in the truly excellent company of the likes of Juilliard in New York, London’s Royal College and Academy and the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.

It is of tremendous credit to the entire RCS community of staff and students – as well as our governors, trustees and partner organisations – that for the third year in a row Scotland’s national conservatoire is rated as one of the world’s finest.

We should be really proud of who we are and what we do and appreciate how well-regarded we are by both academic peers and employers internationally.

Thank you to each and every one of you your part in this tremendous achievement and ensuring that Scotland’s contribution to performing arts education continues to shine across the world.”
