Gina McCormack is well established as one of Britain’s leading violinists, with regular solo appearances at venues across the UK and abroad. Gina led the Sorrel Quartet for 13 years, making frequent BBC Radio Three broadcasts with the group as well as recording twelve CD’s for the Chandos label, including the complete cycle of Shostakovich quartets and works by Britten, Mendelssohn, Schubert and Elgar. She is now concentrating on her solo work, especially recitals with her regular duo partner, pianist Nigel Clayton. Gina also teaches violin at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, and at St Mary’s Music School, Edinburgh, and gives regular masterclasses at home and abroad.
