Fiona Ballantyne OBEis a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and an experienced Non-Executive Director in the health, education, culture, arts and media sectors. She is currently Chair of Love Music Productions Ltd, a member of the board of the charity regulator OSCR, and a member of the Customer Forum for Water, a new initiative established to help shape the water industry for the 21st century.
She has served as Chair of the Board of Museums Galleries Scotland and of the Edinburgh Branch of the Institute of Directors, and as Vice – Chair of the BBC Broadcasting Council for Scotland, of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and of Queen Margaret University. She has also been a trustee of Edinburgh Healthcare Trust, The Audience Business, and Edinburgh Printmakers Workshop Ltd. For a period of 8 years, Fiona was the Member for Scotland on the Ofcom Communications Panel, representing the interests of digital consumers.
Fiona started her career with Procter and Gamble and, after holding senior positions with Forbo Nairn, Thistle Hotels Ltd and the Scottish Development Agency, set up Ballantyne Mackay Consultants in 1990. She ran the company, an independent consultancy specialising in strategic marketing and business development in the not-for-profit sector, until retiring in 2009. During that time, she worked across most artforms including visual arts, dance, drama, craftwork, new media and music.
In 2014, she was awarded an OBE for Services to Culture in Scotland.
