Brass Trumpet Tutor
Sandy McGrattan is a freelance trumpet player based in Glasgow. He is principal trumpet with Scottish Ballet and works regularly with Scottish Opera. He also performs extensively on natural trumpet and cornetto. At the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland he teaches natural trumpet and lectures in Style in Performance. His main research interests relate to brass playing in Britain from the seventeenth century and the music profession in Scotland.
In collaboration with the John Wallace OBE, he has recently authored The Trumpet (2012), published by Yale University Press.
