Hannah Bennett is a mezzo-soprano from Luton, Bedfordshire, she graduated this year at the Alexander Gibson Opera School under the tutelage of Scott Johnson. Hannah is an alumna of the Royal Academy of Music where she trained for six years.
Hannah recently sang the role of Lazuli in Chabrier’s L’Etoile with RCS Opera and was a 2021 Opera Holland Park ‘Young Artist’ singing the role Marcellina (Mozart, Le Nozze di Figaro). She worked with Nevill Holt Opera as a Young Artist in 2021 and returned in 2022 as an Associate Artist. She also worked with the National G&S Opera company for their 2022 Festival. This summer, Hannah looks forward to working with Garsington Opera as an Alvarez Young Artist and joining Waterperry Opera Festival for their production of Carmen.
In 2019, Hannah was a Leeds Lieder Festival Young Artist and in April 2022, was Semi-Finalist for the 67th Annual Kathleen Ferrier Awards, held at the Wigmore Hall. Her studies at the RCS are generously supported by the RCS, the Opera Awards Foundation Bursary, the Aspinwall Educational Trust, the Harpenden Music Foundation and the Clemence Charitable Trust.
