Isla grew up on the Isle of Islay, in the west coast of Scotland. She started taking Highland Dancing classes with Ella Edgar and won many medals and trophies at various competitions across Scotland.
Aged 13 and keen to further her passion for dance, Isla successfully auditioned for the Dance School of Scotland where she started ballet training. Soon after she had the wonderful opportunity to perform a child role in Scottish Ballet Nutcracker. Isla very much enjoyed the following 4 years at DSS where she developed and progressed in a variety of dance styles.
In her last year Isla travelled to London twice a month to participate in the Royal Ballet Advanced Associates Programme.
During her first year at RCS, she was accepted into the Scottish Ballet Youth Exchange programme, working with numerous teachers and choreographers and performing in Glasgow and Italy. Isla’s time at RCS has enabled her to further enhance her technique, collaborate with talented musicians and work with well known choreographers.
Isla is planning to develop her musical theatre skills such as jazz, singing and acting in London. She is looking forward to continuing her dance journey.
