Bio:

Lindsay Grace Johnson is a Scottish Mezzo soprano, from mid Argyll on the west coast of Scotland. She studies with Wilma MacDougall; and is in her fourth year of studies at the RCS, having previously completed the Master’s of Music Performance course in July 2020.

Lindsay is so thankful to the RCS Trust and the Mary Garden scholarship for mezzo soprano voice and the McGlashan Trust for their support during this exciting time in her professional development

 

Work Experience:

In her first year at the Alexander Gibson Opera School, Lindsay sang the role of Nireno in Handel’s Giulio Cesare directed by Jack Furness and conducted by John Butt, as well as two sets of opera scenes. In August 2021 Lindsay sang 3rd Lady and 3rd Boy in Lyric Opera Studio Weimar’s production of Die Zauberflöte.

This year at the RCS she is performing the roles of Mutter in Humperdink’s Hänsel und Gretel, and Minskwoman in Jonathan Dove’s Flight.

Lindsay has performed in masterclasses taken by artists including Anne Murray, Joan Rodgers and Dame Josephine Barstow. She was also a finalist in the 2022 Ye Cronies Opera Award.
