Tamsin Birch is a soprano scholar studying with Wilma MacDougall and Linda Ormiston.
She completed her Master’s of Arts Degree at the Royal Academy of Music, where she was a scholar studying under Nuccia Focile.
Tamsin is fortunate enough to have been supported by the Brian Jamieson Scholarship during her time at RCS.
She has recently performed a variety of fully staged roles including Cleopatra (Giulio Cesare) for RCS, Contessa (Le nozze di Figaro) for St Paul’s Opera, and Poppea (Agrippina) and Merab (Saul) for the Dartington Summer Festival.
Other projects include the Song Studio concert series in 2020, and a keen member of the Rosán Duo for Live Music Now Scotland. She has also been a finalist for the French Art Song Prize at RCS and the Rossi Fest Mozart Prize. She will also be performing the role of Gilda (Rigoletto) for the Camerata de’ Bardi van Nederland in June 2022.
