The Edinburgh Festivals are the largest arts festivals in the world. Each summer, every inch of Edinburgh is transformed into a performing arts venue as the world’s best creators, directors, devisers, comedians and artists descend on the capital – and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland also takes part in this world-renowned stage.

Musical Theatre at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival

For more than a decade, the Musical Theatre department has presented both new work and established titles at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Working alongside the production department and their peers in the School of Music, our MA Musical Theatre (Performance and Musical Directing) students have helped the RCS build a strong reputation for producing excellent musicals year after year.

Edinburgh International Festival

The Edinburgh International Festival (EIF) is a highly prestigious festival attracting the world’s leading artists and producers. Previously, Voice students have had the opportunity to perform at the EIF, alongside RCS alumna Karen Cargill and conductor Edward Gardner.

This year the EIF features performances from a range of RCS graduates, including Catriona Morison, Cardiff Singer of the World competition winner 2017.
