Wallace Studios at Speirs Locks

210 Garscube Road, Glasgow, G4 9RR

Speirs Locks Studios houses our dance studios, rehearsal studios and production arts studios. It is just a ten-minute walk from Renfrew Street.


Directions

By road

We are located close to the M8 motorway.

  • From the South exit at Junction 17 (Dumbarton/Kelvinside)
  • From the West exit at Junction 17 (Dumbarton/Kelvinside), keeping to the right fork.
  • From the East exit at Junction 16 (Cowcaddens)

By train

Glasgow has two main railway stations: Queen Street and Glasgow Central. Both are within ten to fifteen minutes walk of the Conservatoire. Visit thetrainline.com or scotrail.co.uk  for more information.

By subway

The nearest subway station is Cowcaddens. To reach the Wallace Studios at Speirs Locks just follow the path of flowers. For Renfrew Street, you can also exit at Buchanan Street.

By bus

The central bus station at Buchanan Street is just five minutes walk from Renfrew Street and 15 minutes from the Wallace Studios at Speirs Locks.

The following bus services stop outside the Royal Conservatoire on Hope Street: 20, 23, 23A, 41, 50, 54, 55, 66, 75, 801 and 803. For up to date timetables visit the First Glasgow website

By plane

Glasgow International Airport is approximately 20 minutes away by taxi and receives flights from all over the world. Prestwick International Airport is home to short-haul airlines. Edinburgh Airport is also within easy reach by car, train and bus from Glasgow.


Car Parking

There aren’t any car parking facilities at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. However, there are multi-storey car parking facilities available close by at Cambridge StreetConcert SquareDundasvale and Buchanan Galleries.

There is metred on-street parking at the Wallace Studios at Speirs Locks.

Parking

Multi-storey parking facilities at Cambridge Street, Concert Square and Buchanan Galleries. Fully DDA compliant facilities are available in the Cambridge Street multi-storey. The charge for use of these facilities is £1 after 6pm.

Blue Badge Holders

Renfrew Street has single yellow lines and Hope Street has double yellow lines. As both these streets are main traffic routes there is no parking on either street between 8am and 6pm.

However, there are Park and Display bays on Renfrew Street and outside of peak times (8am – 9.15am & 4.15pm – 6pm) Blue Badge holders may park in the Pay and Display bays without limit of time or charge.

Wheelchair Access

There is level access to the ground floor of the Royal Conservatoire at the main entrance on Renfrew Street and the Hope Street entrance. There is level access at the Wallace Studios at Speirs Locks.

Accessible lifts serve all floors.

WC

Accessible unisex toilets with emergency call buttons are available on two floors at Renfrew Street and at the Wallace Studios at Speirs Locks.

Signed Performances and Audio Description

Sign language or audio-described interpretation services are available as advertised.

Induction Loop

All our venues are fitted with an induction loop. Patrons who are hard of hearing and fitted with a hearing aid should use their T-switch.

Assistance Dogs

We welcome guide dogs and hearing dogs. The lift to all floors has a voice announcement.
