Pre-Junior Conservatoire of Dance

The Pre-Junior Conservatoire of Dance programme will inspire and teach the next generation of dancers, starting with core skills at an early education level.

Overview

We offer this programme at RCS in Glasgow, Dumfries House in East Ayrshire, and Dalkeith Palace in Midlothian.

These dance classes are delivered as part of the Junior Conservatoire offering from RCS and young students are encouraged to develop their ballet technique, creativity and performance skills. We look for young people who are enthusiastic about dance, want to learn new skills and show potential and an aptitude for rhythm and movement.

Applications for 2024/25 are now open.

To gain a place on our Pre-Junior Conservatoire of Dance programme at any of our locations, you must take part in an audition, a simple ballet class, where you can meet the teachers and ask any questions.

We do not ask for previous dance experience or formal entry requirements from Level 1 auditionees. Instead, we look for students’ natural rhythm, potential and eagerness to learn dance.

If you are auditioning for Level 2, we ask that you have a few years of ballet experience.
