Why did you decide to audition for Juniors?
One of the lecturers, Lydia, came along to my school for a chat and workshop regarding Juniors, as soon as I knew what it was about I was hooked! I wanted to be somewhere I grow and expand my skills with ease.
At the audition, at first I was nervous, but as soon as I met the other people and we all realised everyone else felt the same, it became a lot more chilled out as we felt comfort in each other.
I made sure to tell my mum that if she got an email regarding my place I had to read it first, and I am so glad I did because I smiled from ear to ear when I got in. At first, when I started I was bricking it, it was scary, but then someone from my audition also got in so I recognised someone, after that it felt much easier to connect with others!
What do you look forward to most on a Sunday?
It’s the perfect way to end a week, you get to learn really intriguing and interesting stuff, all while hanging out with your mates! The atmosphere is joyous, everyone wants to be there. Also it’s trusting; we all share a connection that we built trust from, so there’s no nerves at all.
Why should young people apply for Juniors?
You will not regret it, at Juniors you can be free to take risks, face new challenges and explore many areas of the creative industry, all under one roof and in a trusting and safe environment.
Being able to take risks while performing was such a no go zone for me, but then when I could do that in the right space, it became second nature elsewhere. I also learned that to make a connection you don’t need to speak to someone, it could just be a few seconds glance on the train or a whole staring contest for a few minutes, out of this comes a connection!
