Acting Connection Through Song

28 March 11.00am to 12.30pm

Ever felt that you could get more out of your song? Why can some singers move their audience to extremes of emotion, seemingly effortlessly? What is it about songs that enableus to communicate emotion on a deeper level than words alone?

In this workshop, RCS Artistic Director of Musical Theatre, Andrew Panton, will explore ways to connect to the lyric and expand your vocal possibilities. You should bring sheet music for a song that you have memorised and be open to exploration of style, technique and emotional connection.

From the Body to the Text

28 March 1.00pm to 2.30pm

In this workshop, RCS Head of MA Classical and Contemporary Text programme, Mark Saunders, will lead a practical workshop that explores the connections between text and movement. Come prepared to move and be creative in an ensemble context. This will be followed by a Q and A about this unique, innovative postgraduate programme.

Sixteen Rules of Acting

28 March 3.00pm to 4.30pm

This workshop will be led by Ali de Souza, Lecturer in Acting.

You should bring with you a speech to work on during the workshop.
