Students join Pudsey as he goes to the musicals for BBC Children in Need
Royal Conservatoire of Scotland students take centre stage with Pudsey Bear for a show stopping performance of songs from the musicals for BBC Children in Need (Tuesday 15November at Glasgow City Halls, 6.30pm)
Pudsey dusts off his top hat and tails for an evening of songs with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. Singing on the night will be West End star Scott Davies, Michelle McManus and a surprise special guest. The Royal Conservatoire’s Musical Theatre students will perform a musical medley alongside forty pupils from Inverkip Primary School Choir who will be joining in the music too! With songs from Phantom of the Opera to Brigadoon, you are invited to join Pudsey for a memorable evening of songs in aid of Children in Need, presented by Jamie MacDougall.
Recorded live at Glasgow’s City Halls on Tuesday November 15 at 6.30pm, the concert will be broadcast on the BBC on Children in Need night. This spectacular concert is a glittering evening celebrating some of the world’s most popular and much loved songs, with the audience encouraged to come along dressed as their favourite character from the musicals.
Led by Andrew Panton, Artistic Director of Musical Theatre at the Royal Conservatoire, the students from the Musical Theatre programme will perform a medley of hits from Broadway and West End shows.
He said: “Being part of Children in Need is very special and this year is going to be bigger and better than ever before.There’s something exciting about bringing together a group of people to sing together, it’s lots of fun and slightly scary too. We want you to come dressed as your favourite musicals character and sing along with us!”
Professor Jeffrey Sharkey, Principal of the Royal Conservatoire, added: “I am delighted that Andrew and his team are one again taking on this exciting challenge to support BBC Children in Need. I have no doubt that hewill work his magic so that the singers, and Pudsey, will be in perfect harmony.”
