Elise Haller-Shannon is a composer, musician and educator currently undertaking a PhD at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Elise Haller-Shannon is a composer, musician and educator currently undertaking a PhD at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Her research involves using contemporary music as a tool to describe and discuss the subjective experience of women, particularly in spaces where women’s experiences have been historically underrepresented. She is currently focussed on exploring where these experiences intersect with Scottish identity, history and music.
Elise has a BMus (Hons) degree from the University of Glasgow, a PGDE in Secondary Music Education from the University of Edinburgh and an MA in Composition from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She lectures part-time at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and teaches composition and musicianship at the Junior Conservatoire.
