Elsa Cloutier

BA Modern Ballet, Class of 2025

Elsa Cloutier is a dancer from Montreal, Canada who joined RCS in 2022 . Her time in Scotland has allowed her to develop her artistry in both ballet and contemporary while also allowing the creative space to develop choreographic ideas.

Elsa has been training in dance for fifteen years, and has developed a strong foundation in both contemporary dance and ballet. Throughout her training, she has strived to be a focused and passionate artist, continually pushing herself to improve and expand her creative range. During her time at RCS, she’s had the opportunity to work with choreographers, such as Christopher Bruce, Mark Bruce and Nicolas Shoesmith.

Elsa has also had the opportunity to participate in the Scottish Ballet Youth Exchange in her second year and experience the dance scene in New York in collaboration with |MOVE| NYC alongside other talented dancers from around Scotland. She’s also had experience choreographing her own work during her time at RCS such as during Glassworks, which features music by Philip Glass, and PLUG in partnership with the composition department with original music.

Elsa has learned and grown throughout her time at RCS thanks to her peers and teachers and is eager to start her professional career in dance.
