Isabel Macintosh

MA Acting Classical and Contemporary Text
Class of 2026

About

Isabel Macintosh is an actress, writer and director whose work bridges the gap between literature, poetry and movement. Currently training at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Isabel’s practice is defined by a commitment to nuanced storytelling that challenges, provokes and moves the audience.

With a First Class degree with Honours in English Literature and American Studies from the University of Manchester, Isabel’s artistic vision is deeply rooted in the written word. Poetry, political discourse and complex narratives fuel her approach to performance, creation and inclusivity on stage. Having acted in numerous theatre productions over the last few years, Isabel has developed an interest in the potential of theatre, not purely as a didactic tool but a space of exploration and dialogue.

In 2024, Isabel performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, bringing her commitment to authentic, raw storytelling to a wider audience. In 2025, she wrote and directed Flat Pink Roses at the Kings Arms, marking her arrival as a creator with a distinct voice that marries the poetic, personal and political.

Isabel is an artist committed to work that matters, theatre that lives in the body, challenges the mind and stays with the audience long after the lights come up.
