Junior Conservatoire Lecturer, Violin

Lamond Gillespie has been teaching the violin for over 25 years, 20 of which as part of the RCS Junior Conservatoire where he started whilst in the final year of his Masters Degree in violin performance, during which he was awarded the Eric Dodds memorial scholarship.

Lamond Gillespie has been teaching the violin for over 25 years, 20 of which as part of the RCS Junior Conservatoire where he started whilst in the final year of his Masters Degree in violin performance, during which he was awarded the Eric Dodds memorial scholarship.

He was the 1st violinist of the Viridian String Quartet from 2009 to 2012, and has performed extensively with pianist Havilland Willshire.

Alongside this, he has performed and given classes in traditional Irish music in Ireland, France and Geneva and made critically acclaimed CD recordings and national Radio and Television appearances, as well as producing Irish Government funded historical CDs.

He studied with Eszter Boda Katona (winner of the Carl Flesch international violin competition) at Trinity in London before moving to Scotland to study with Charles Mutter and Peter Lissauer.
