GREAT Scholarship recipient for the MA Acting Classical and Contemporary text program and Dramatic Literature and Theater degree graduate from UNAM in Mexico, with 8 years of professional experience spanning both the Mexican and international stage:

Matías Sales Pastor was born in Mexico City and studied at the Modern American School where he participated and won first place in 2015 in the thirteenth Shakespeare Competition, coordinated by the British Council and Anglo Arts, which awarded him the opportunity to attend the “Midsummer Conservatoire program” at the British American Drama Academy (BADA) at Oxford for a specialized three week course in Shakespearean acting.

In the international stage he participated as an actor in the play “Yo solo vine a ver el jardín”, written and directed by Carla Nyman, winner of the “AlmagrOFF”, at the Almagro Classical Theater festival in 2022.

In Mexico he has collaborated as an actor in the play “Luciérnagas para la Oscuridad”, choreographed and directed by Alicia Sánchez in 2025, and at the National School of Cinema (ENAC) at UNAM with the performance “Tristessa”, directed by Miguel Ángel Rivera in 2023.
Throughout 2022 he attended courses and workshops of Spanish “Golden Age” Classical Acting at Aula de Verso in Madrid, and furthermore, he has been an actor, verse teacher and advisor in the play “Peribañez y el Comendador de Ocaña” from Lope de Vega for the company “Laboratorio Rosa Azul”.

As well he has been an active member since 2023 of the Mexican Association of Historical Fencing (AMEA) directed by the Master at Arms: Jorge Luis Rivera, in which he has practiced duel fencing as a martial art with proficient handling of weapons such as: daggers, swords, and lances, which has complemented his passion for stage combat.
