Pete Collins

Acting Lecturer (Ensemble, Text Analysis and Acting Projects)

Pete is a professional actor, director and teaching artist.

As an actor, Pete has worked with theatre companies including the Bolton Octagon Theatre, the Manchester Royal Exchange theatre and the National Theatre of Great Britain. Pete has toured nationally and internationally with companies including Complicité, Punchdrunk, Theatre Babel, Catherine Wheels and Paines Plough.

In Scotland, he has worked for the Citizen’s Theatre, Traverse Theatre, Tron Theatre, Perth Theatre, National Theatre of Scotland and Oran Mor. He continues to make regular appearances as an actor on TV, film and radio and as a voice over artist.

Pete holds a BA Hons in English Studies from the University of Nottingham, a Post Graduate Diploma in Creative Theatre (Performance) from Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, an MA in Theatre and Development from the University of East Anglia, a PGDE in Secondary English from the University of Strathclyde and a Post Graduate Certificate in Learning & Teaching in the Arts from RCS. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has taught at various HE institutions including Rose Bruford College. Pete is an Association Member of the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain.

Research and Teaching interests include embodied knowing, ensemble practice, text analysis, creative reflective practice for actors and the art of storytelling.
