Ruby Ophelia Chisholm-Beyer

BA Modern Ballet, Class of 2025

Ruby Ophelia is originally from Sussex, England and was privately trained there, prior to joining the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2022, as the grateful recipient of the Cowrie Scholarship.

Ruby is incredibly thankful for the nurturing environment all of the faculty have provided throughout her time on the BA Modern Ballet program; refining her abilities in classical and contemporary disciplines, both technically and artistically, in preparation of a professional career.

Ruby feels that she has particularly benefitted from the performance opportunities offered to her during her time at the conservatoire; featuring in works by Nicholas Shoesmith, Mark Bruce, Krzysztof Pastor, Diana Loosmore and ‘Prelude’- a pas de deux piece choreographed by Fabrice Maufrais, in the 2024 Modern Ballet graduation performances.

She has also performed in a variety of internal and collaborative performances at venues such as the Gleneagles Hotel and Townhouse, the New Athaeneum Theatre and the Alexander Gibson Opera School.

Externally, Ruby has also gone on to place in the Top 6 of the Miss Dance of Great Britain Finals and is currently preparing for the GradPro Competition Finals; which will provide valuable exposure to several international ballet companies and the opportunity to perform her self-choreographed solo infront of an esteemed panel.
