Let’s Talk About… Symposium

Tuesday 1 April 2025

Royal Conservatoire of Scotland

About the Symposium

Join us for the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s first ever symposium exploring ways of working with care experienced and estranged artists, students and participants.

The symposium will share the projects, practices and research that informs RCS Fair Access’ approach to providing the right support and creating spaces where artists and learners can thrive.

Whether you are someone with lived experienced, someone who works with care experienced and estranged people, or have a research focus in this field, we invite you to participate in our active conversation and explore best practice in this field.

With keynote speakers, performances provocations and dialogue, the Let’s Talk About…symposium warmly invites you to get involved.

You will find more information below about the event and we’ll be updating this page when further details are confirmed. Breakfast, lunch and refreshments will be provided. Please note that this event is aimed at people aged 18+.

Throughout the day we will have person centred counsellors available to support anyone who is affected by the themes and discussions of the symposium, and a quiet space for anyone to access.

Please use this form to register your place at the Let’s Talk About…Symposium.

The Let’s Talk About… Portal is the culmination of a longitudinal Fair Access project spanning several years exploring better practice when working with care experienced and estranged young people, students and artists. Let’s Talk About… have been funded by the William Grant Foundation.
