A snapshot of how a seemingly successful professional, Donn, can unravel when work and relationship problems prove too much. Poor sleep, drinking, and aggression get him nowhere; nor does so-called medical help. Finally, numb from masking thoughts of suicide, he goes to a remote woodland with a bottle of booze and a pocketful of pills. Although his car breaking down seems like the final straw it delivers his saviour in the form of a different kind of spirit: a Hiker. The Hiker sees Donn and their chat provides Donn with a new perspective on life that the Hiker only discovered too late for himself.
